AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT H.B. 1357 amends current law relating to the power of the Nueces County Road District No. 4 to lease or sell land. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Subtitle B, Title 5, Special District Local Laws Code, by adding Chapter 5202, as follows: CHAPTER 5202. NUECES COUNTY ROAD DISTRICT NO. 4 SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS Sec. 5202.001. DEFINITION. Defines "district" in this chapter. SUBCHAPTER B. DISTRICT POWERS Sec. 5202.051. AUTHORITY TO LEASE OR SELL LAND. Authorizes the Nueces County Road District No. 4. (district) to lease or sell land that is no longer used for district purposes. SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2013.
