The bill would require DFPS to report certain information pertaining to a child being born with an addiction to alcohol or a controlled substance and to report on the number of parents who test positive for the presence of a controlled substance during an investigation. The information must be made available on the DFPS website. The change in law made by the bill would apply to information collected by DFPS on and after the effective date of the bill. The agency's estimated cost for these system changes is $1,493,872 (14,567.25 hours X $102.55 per hour) in fiscal year 2014 in All Funds, including $1,330,054 in General Revenue Funds.
