The bill is bracketed to apply only to El Paso Independent School District (ISD). The bill would require El Paso ISD to implement a program to have a local nonprofit diabetes prevention organization visit each district campus quarterly to educate students in grades 3 through 12 about Type 2 diabetes prevention and awareness. Local Government Impact The administrative cost for the district to have a local nonprofit organization visit each district campus quarterly to provide education on Type 2 diabetes is not anticipated to be significant.
