                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 23, 2013      TO: Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1726 by Bohac (Relating to shipping logistics and coordination services for state agencies.), As Passed 2nd House    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would authorize the Comptroller of Public Accounts to contract with a vendor to provide shipping coordination services to all state agencies and would be required to pay the vendor from anticipated savings realized under the contract. The vendor would be required to arrange the shipment of goods, parcels, and freight using a service that provides the lowest cost for all state agencies. The vendor would be required to maintain a record of each shipment made. The bill would take effect immediately if a two-thirds majority vote in both houses of the Legislature is received. Otherwise, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.The LBB estimates no significant fiscal impact from the provisions of the bill Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
