                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2013      TO: Honorable Dan Branch, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1844 by Branch (Relating to the official name of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would officially change the name of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas to The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  In addition, the bill would make conforming changes to agency names in Section 572.003(c) of Government Code.  According to information provided by The University of Texas System, it is expected that the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.   Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would officially change the name of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas to The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
