The bill would amend the Family Code to limit the courts and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) in the issuance of a stay for a license suspension related to nonpayment of child support. The bill would also provide that a licensing authority may not accept an application for issuance or renewal of a license from a child support obligor who has arrears unless the obligor has made an immediate payment of not less than $200 and is in compliance with the remainder of payments.
