The bill would amend Section 683.015 of the Transportation Code to authorize a municipality or a county to transfer funds in excess of $1,000 to be used by the attorney representing the state to compensate property owners whose vehicle, aircraft, watercraft, or outboard motor is damaged as a result of a suspect fleeing apprehension by a peace officer in a county with a population of less than 150,000. According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
