The bill would authorize an open-enrollment charter school to be assessed as a Drop Out Prevention and Recovery Charter High School if 50 percent or more of its students are 17 years of age or older and 75 percent or more of its students are considered to be at risk of dropping out of school. Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, this analysis assumes that any costs related to the implementation of this bill would not be significant.
