The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to provide the effective date of a Medicaid provider's ineligibility to participate in the Medicaid program after the provider has been found liable of Medicaid fraud. The bill would also require an individual who brings a legal action on behalf of the State to notify the Attorney General within 10 days of reaching a proposed settlement agreement. The Office of the Attorney General has indicated that any cost associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
