                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 22, 2013      TO: Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2223 by Wu (Relating to the availability of information from the federal Election Assistance Commission on the secretary of state's Internet website.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Secretary of State to compile data derived from voter registration information reported by the Election Assistance Commission to Congress and post it on the Secretary of States Internet website, in a searchable format, by county. The Secretary of State indicates the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.
