The bill would amend Chapter 102 of the Family Code, as it relates to standing for certain foster parents to file a suit affecting the parent-child relationship. The bill would permit a foster parent to file suit at an earlier date if the child in their care has been removed from the child's home more than once. According to analysis provided by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Office of Court Administration, the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.
