C.S.H.B. 2356 will publicly honor former Speaker Sam Rayburn by designating a portion of Recreational Road 255 in Jasper County as Sam Rayburn Parkway. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS C.S.H.B. 2356 amends the Transportation Code to designate the portion of Recreational Road 255 between State Highway 63 and U.S. Highway 96 in Jasper County as Sam Rayburn Parkway. The bill requires the Texas Department of Transportation, subject to a grant or donation of funds, to design and construct markers indicating the designation as Sam Rayburn Parkway and any other appropriate information and to erect a marker at each end of the road and appropriate intermediate sites along the road.
