                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 17, 2013      TO: Honorable Garnet Coleman, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2438 by Farias (Relating to the authority of a county to assess the costs of abatement of a nuisance on real property against certain persons.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code as it relates to the recovery of assessed costs and fees in a nuisance abatement suit. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact on the court system resulting from the bill. The changes in law would apply only to costs or assessments for which notice was given on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
