       AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT   H.B. 2511 amends current law relating to the option of providing electronic recordings of proceedings in the municipal court of record for the City of Houston.   RULEMAKING AUTHORITY   This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.   SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS   SECTION 1. Repealer: Section 30.00676(b) (relating to providing that Section 30.00010(d) (relating to authorizing the use of a good quality electronic recording device, rather than of a municipality-appointed court reporter, to preserve a record in cases tried before a municipal court of record) does not apply to this subchapter (Houston)), Government Code.    SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2013.

H.B. 2511 amends current law relating to the option of providing electronic recordings of proceedings in the municipal court of record for the City of Houston.

SECTION 1.
