                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 15, 2013      TO: Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2570 by Miles (Relating to voter registration; creating an offense.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code relating to voter registration and training standards for deputy registrars.  The bill would require the Secretary of State (SOS) to make available online training materials and an examination to potential volunteer deputy registrars. The bill would make offenses under this section a Class B misdemeanor. SOS indicated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
