                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 4, 2013      TO: Honorable John Davis, Chair, House Committee On Economic & Small Business Development      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB26 by Martinez Fischer (Relating to unemployment compensation eligibility and chargebacks regarding certain persons who are victims or whose immediate family members are victims of sexual assault or family violence.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to unemployment compensation eligibility and chargebacks regarding certain persons who are victims or whose immediate family members are victims of sexual assault or family violence.   Based on information provided by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), it is assumed that benefits paid under this bill would not represent a significant impact to the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund.  It is also assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to unemployment compensation eligibility and chargebacks regarding certain persons who are victims or whose immediate family members are victims of sexual assault or family violence.
