Lewis, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2600 by Klick (Relating to the determination of probable cause for a court to ascertain whether a person is an incapacitated person for purposes of the appointment of a guardian ad litem or court investigator.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Estates Code as it relates to the procedure for establishing probable cause for court-initiated investigations of persons believed to be incapacitated. The bill would repeal Estates Code Section 1102.003 relating to information letters about people believed to be incapacitated. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill. The bill would take effect January 1, 2014.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
