LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION April 7, 2013 TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Technology FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB2638 by Larson (Relating to the Cybersecurity, Education, and Economic Development Council.), As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would continue the Cybersecurity, Education, and Economic Development Council (Council) for two years until September 1, 2015. Under current law, the council will be abolished on September 1, 2013 unless continued by the Legislature. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect on the 91st day after the last day of legislative session. It is anticipated that any costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
