The bill would require the Commissioner of Education to establish a state-level program for credit by examination for public secondary education under which a student in a Texas public high school may receive credit by examination for any course required or offered by a Texas public high school. Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, if the state-level program for credit by examination was established using existing credit by examination resources, the provisions of this bill could be implemented by utilizing existing resources.
