The bill would amend the Water Code to specify that the aggregate of the change orders in plans or specifications may not increase the original contract price by more than 25 percent. Under current statute, the original contract price could not be increased by more than 10 percent. The bill would authorize certain districts to receive bids relating to construction contracts and for the purchase of equipment through electronic transmission if the district adopts rules to ensure the security and confidentiality, and to ensure that the bids remain sealed. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
