                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 26, 2013      TO: Honorable Abel Herrero, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2988 by Canales (Relating to the disclosure of certain information and evidence by a prosecutor in a criminal case.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure as it relates to information or evidence in criminal prosecutions. It is not anticipated that the bill will result in a significant fiscal impact to the court system. The change in law would apply to a criminal proceeding that commences on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
