                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 10, 2013      TO: Honorable Bob Deuell, Chair, Senate Committee on Economic Development      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3028 by Davis, John (Relating to the use of the skills development fund and other funds available to the Texas Workforce Commission to support certain joint credit courses offered by school districts under agreements with public junior colleges.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the use of the skills development fund and other funds available to the Texas Workforce Commission to support certain joint credit courses offered by school districts under agreements with public junior colleges.Based on information provided by the Texas Workforce Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  In addition, the bill has no direct fiscal implications for the Foundation School Program or the operations of the Texas Education Agency.  Local Government Impact Funding would be available through school districts and public junior colleges to develop and maintain CTE dual credit courses and programs for some school districts.
