                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 19, 2013      TO: Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3065 by Menéndez (Relating to payment of funds by the secretary of state for the cost of primary elections), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Secretary of State (SOS) to pay funds requested by a political party involved in a primary election to the county in which the primary elections were held. SOS indicated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
