The bill would amend various sections of the Election Code relating to eligibility requirements for voting a limited ballot by personal appearance on election day by persons who recently changed residence to another county. The bill would require the Secretary of State (SOS) to adopt rules to ensure that a voter's pending registration is not canceled due to a vote cast by the voter under certain sections of the bill. SOS indicated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
