A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to optional fees imposed on vehicles registered in certain
counties to fund transportation projects.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 502.402(b), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(b) The commissioners court of a county by order may impose
an additional fee[, not to exceed $10,] for a vehicle registered in
the county. The fee may not exceed:
(1) $10 in a county described by Subsection (a) with a
population of over 700,000; or
(2) $20 for any other county described by Subsection
(a).
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
