The bill would amend Chapter 533 of the Government Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), if cost-effective and feasible, to develop and implement pilot programs under which HHSC contracts with provider-directed managed care organizations. The Department of Insurance and HHSC indicate the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
