The bill would amend Chapter 533 of the Government Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), if cost-effective and feasible, to develop and implement pilot programs under which HHSC contracts with provider-directed managed care organizations. The Department of Insurance and HHSC indicate the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
