                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 15, 2013      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3236 by Ritter (Relating to the regulation of fireworks.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code and Occupations Code as they relate to the regulation of fireworks. Under the provisions of the bill, the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission shall adopt rules and the state fire marshal shall administer rules necessary for regulating possession and transportation of less than 1,000 pounds of fireworks and the use of restricted fireworks in a county where drought conditions exist immediately preceding or during the fireworks season.  The bill would take effect upon September 1, 2013. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
