A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to making a political expenditure for the purpose of
allowing a candidate or officeholder to address a meeting of a
corporation or labor organization.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 253.098, Election Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows
:
(a-1) A corporation or labor organization may make one or
more expenditures authorized under Subsection (a) for the purpose
of allowing a candidate or officeholder to communicate at a meeting
of the corporation or labor organization.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
