A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to importation of liquor by local distributors.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 23.01, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) A local distributor's permittee may:
(1) purchase and import liquor from a distiller,
winery, wine bottler, or rectifier who holds a nonresident seller's
permit; or
(2) place an order to purchase and import liquor with a
holder of a manufacturer's agent's permit who is an agent for a
person described by Subdivision (1).
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
