The bill would amend the Occupations Code to add an additional venue option for towing suits. The owner of the towed motor vehicle may request the case be brought in any justice court having jurisdiction in the county from which the vehicle was towed. According to the Office of Court Administration, no additional judicial workload is anticipated; therefore, no significant fiscal impact to the courts is anticipated.
