A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to formal action of responsible governmental entities on
certain proposals or bids for certain projects.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 2267, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 2267.0531 to read as follows:
Sec. 2267.0531. FORMAL ACTION DELAYED. (a) The responsible
governmental entity may not take any formal action on a proposal or
bid received under this chapter before September 1, 2013.
(b) This section expires September 2, 2013.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the
legislative session.
