Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3556 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the licensing and regulation of emergency medical services providers.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code as it relates to the licensing and regulation of emergency medical services providers.  The bill adds provisions related to nonemergency ambulance transportation providers including requiring providers to provide the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) with letters of credit and a surety bond.  Based on the analysis provided by DSHS, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
