                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 6, 2013      TO: Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3593 by Burnam (Relating to the determination that a voter is ineligible to vote.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code relating to the determination that a voter is ineligible to vote by providing the Secretary of State with criteria to be used when determining whether an individual is deceased or not a citizen, and by describing certain actions to be taken by the Secretary of State and affected counties based on such determinations.     The Secretary of State indicates the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources. This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; if not, it will take effect on September 1, 2013.
