The bill would amend the Government Code requiring certain information concerning a resident of the state that is disclosed by a member of the legislature or the lieutenant governor to the Department of Family and Protective Services or certain governmental units to remain confidential unless the member or lieutenant governor elected to disclose the information. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
