LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION April 14, 2013 TO: Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB3802 by Bohac (Relating to public school transfers and interventions and sanctions for a campus experiencing a routinely large number of requests to transfer from the campus.), As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require districts to adopt a local policy to allow a parent or person standing in parental relation to any student to request a transfer of the student from the campus the student would otherwise attend to another campus in the district. The bill would require campuses to take certain measures if the parents of more than four percent of the students at the campus request a transfer. Local Government Impact Districts would incur costs related to implementing the provisions of the bill, although these costs would vary.
