The provisions of the bill would no longer allow scholarships to a public junior college or public technical institute student under the Jobs and Education for Texas Grants program adminstered by the Comptroller of Public Accounts. Individuals currently receiving scholarships before the effective date of the enactment of the bill for the 2013-2014 academic year may continue to receive the scholarship until they are no longer eligible under the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
