                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            February 27, 2013      TO: Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee On Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB572 by Isaac (Relating to the issuance to veterans of specially marked licenses to carry a concealed handgun and specially marked personal identification certificates.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code and the Transportation Code to require the Department of Public Safety to create a "veteran" designation to be placed upon request of the veteran on the veteran's Concealed Handgun License and personal identification certificate.  It is assumed the provisions of the bill could be implemented within current appropriations.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
