Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB598 by Zerwas (Relating to a prohibition on the use of a tanning facility by a minor.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 145 of the Health and Safety Code, related to a prohibition on the use of a tanning facility by a minor. The bill would remove requirements for parental consent for a minor to use a tanning device and would prohibit a tanning facility from allowing a person younger than 18 years of age to use a tanning device. The Department of State Health Services indicates that there would be no significant cost associated with implementing the bill.
