                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 21, 2013      TO: Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB899 by Perry (Relating to certain rights of victims, guardians of victims, and close relatives of deceased victims in the criminal justice system.), As Passed 2nd House    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would provide that in capital murder cases, a  close relative of the deceased victim or guardian of a victim may receive certain communications regarding victim outreach, avoid contact from certain entities without consent, and designate a victim service provider to receive all communications from any victim outreach specialist.   Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
