The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt certain location information for vehicles used in law enforcement from required disclosure under Section 552.021 of the Government Code pertaining to information available to the public. It is assumed whatever costs may be associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current appropriations. The bill would take effect immediately upon a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each chamber; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
