                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 12, 2013      TO: Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee On Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB919 by Fletcher (relating to excepting certain vehicle location information from required disclosure under the public information law. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt certain location information for vehicles used in law enforcement from required disclosure under Section 552.021 of the Government Code pertaining to information available to the public. It is assumed whatever costs may be associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current appropriations. The bill would take effect immediately upon a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each chamber; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
