The bill would amend the Family Code as it relates to the notification of certain legislators of the death of a child in foster care. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013. The Department of Family and Protective Services does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact as a result of complying with the provisions of the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
