A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the display of informational materials regarding organ
donation by the Department of Public Safety.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 521.401, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
(f) In all field offices, the department shall provide space
for nonprofit organizations to display posters and other
informational materials regarding organ donation that are visible
to applicants. The materials must be:
(1) approved in advance by the department; and
(2) installed and maintained at no cost to the
department.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
