83R28729(2) MGR-D By: Menendez H.C.R. No. 134 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Words cannot express the heartache felt at the loss of U.S. Navy Petty Officer Third Class Clayton R. Beauchamp of Weatherford, who died while bravely serving his country on August 7, 2012, at the age of 21; and WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Camp Pendleton, California, Petty Officer Third Class Beauchamp lost his life in Helmand Province, Afghanistan; and WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to this nation's servicemen and servicewomen, who make immeasurable sacrifices for their country and who risk their very lives in its behalf; and WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces, Clayton R. Beauchamp inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity, and courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives of his loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic Texan close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas hereby pay tribute to the life of Petty Officer Third Class Clayton R. Beauchamp and extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of U.S. Navy Petty Officer Third Class Clayton R. Beauchamp.
