R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake Highlands High School of the Richardson
Independent School District has earned national recognition for
establishing a learning community that stimulates intellectual
engagement and academic achievement; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of a number of prestigious honors,
Lake Highlands High has been named a U.S. Department of Education
Blue Ribbon School, Newsweek Top U.S. High School, Washington Post
Top 5 Percent U.S. High School, and U.S. News & World Report
Outstanding American High School; and
WHEREAS, Lake Highlands High students have been honored as
National PTA Reflections Art Contest, National Academic Decathlon
and State Mock Trial Champions; this notable institution has earned
the titles of D Magazine Top Metroplex High School and Texas
Education Agency Recognized School; and
WHEREAS, These significant accomplishments are a testament
to the rigorous scholastic standards and exceptional opportunities
that characterize Lake Highlands High School, and they are a source
of justifiable pride to principal Peggy Dillon and all those
associated with the school; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby honor the administration and faculty of Lake
Highlands High School for their commitment to excellence in
education and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
success with their important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
