 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by
 many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this
 significant honor by Houston Robert Garrett of Lubbock also heralds
 a future bright with opportunity and promise; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Greg and Nancy Garrett and a junior at
 Trinity Christian High School, this fine young Texan has mastered a
 number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he
 has earned merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas
 as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he
 has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking
 his Eagle Scout project, in which he organized the manufacture,
 distribution, and placement of more than 200 metal address markers
 to help first responders easily locate homes in emergencies; and
 WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop 567, Mr. Garrett
 has served as a leader to his peers, and in so doing, he has
 exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are
 renowned; and
 WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for
 attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Houston Garrett has
 demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its
 ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the
 way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Houston Robert Garrett
 on achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Eagle Scout Garrett as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
