H.R. No. 1153
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Robert and Jennie Lopez
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 2,
2013; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lopez, born in his parents' home on Easy Street
in Houston, and Mrs. Lopez, who has roots in Cameron, met each other
in a cotton field; they were joined in matrimony in 1963, and
through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family
that includes 4 daughters, Vera, Jenny, Mary, and Roberta, as well
as 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Lopez is
retired from his work in the agriculture business and Mrs. Lopez is
a homemaker; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lopez have enjoyed half a century of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Jennie Lopez on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lopez as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
