R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Richardson City Council has acknowledged the
restorative efforts of eight local property owners with 2012
Community Revitalization Awards; and
WHEREAS, Created in 1994, the Community Revitalization
Awards honor residential and commercial real estate owners who have
made significant exterior improvements to their properties,
thereby setting a desirable precedent for the surrounding area;
recipients are selected by a judging committee consisting of
members of the city council, the City Plan Commission, and the
Richardson Chamber of Commerce, and they are honored at a reception
and an award presentation ceremony held in January of each year; and
WHEREAS, The 2012 winning properties include the Swanson,
Wallace, Kirk, Guinn, and Kazmann residences and local businesses
QuikTrip, Jack in the Box, and Govindji's Jewelry; and
WHEREAS, Featuring attractive design elements and
dramatically refurbished facades, these properties are of great
aesthetic and economic value to the Richardson community, and their
owners' efforts are indeed worthy of praise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the winners of the 2012 Richardson
Community Revitalization Awards and commend each of them for their
contributions to the city; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
for the honorees as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
of Representatives.
