 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Cindy Gautreaux of Angleton has been named a
 recipient of the Award of Merit by the Thunderbird District, Bay
 Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America; and
 WHEREAS, This prestigious commendation pays tribute to
 individuals who have made a positive difference in the lives of
 Texas youth; it is the highest honor a volunteer with the scouts can
 receive at the district level; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Gautreaux has served as den leader of Cub Scout
 Pack No. 507 and has helped with, and participated in, many pack
 activities, including camp outings; she has served as an
 administrator of the Cub Scout Twilight Camp for four years and the
 Bay Area Council Native American Weekend for three years, and she
 has given generously of her time and energies to the Cub-O-Ree,
 Things-That-Go, and Webelos Woods events as well; and
 WHEREAS, Always prepared, Ms. Gautreaux has undergone
 training in new leader essentials, youth protection, outdoor
 orientation, scoutmaster, and outdoor skills, and she serves on a
 training team for other adult leaders and volunteers; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Gautreaux married her husband, David, at a
 chapel at Camp Karankawa, a Boy Scout facility; the mother of two
 children and the stepmother of three, she has two boys who are
 currently involved in scouting; and
 WHEREAS, Cindy Gautreaux has brought inspiring leadership
 and deep enthusiasm to her work with the Boy Scouts of America, and
 it is a privilege to acknowledge her exceptional contributions to
 that organization and to the youth of her community; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Cindy Gautreaux on her receipt of a
 2012 Award of Merit from the Thunderbird District, Bay Area Council
 of the Boy Scouts of America, and extend to her sincere best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Gautreaux as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
