No. 1233 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Nolan Chadwick Blount has ably served his fellow citizens as a valued employee of the City of Garland for 15 years; and WHEREAS, A Garland native, Chad Blount graduated in 1993 from Naaman Forest High School; growing up, he was active in Boy Scouts and the Garland Police and Fire Departments' Explorer Posts, and he was a civilian volunteer for the Garland Fire Department for two years; and WHEREAS, In 1996, Mr. Blount was hired by the fire department as a civilian service provider in the administration division; he served in that role for over eight years before becoming an accounting technician, and he later transferred to the city's human resources department, where he worked as an operations aide; and WHEREAS, This notable Texan is deeply committed to the state he is proud to call home; he is a strong advocate for civil and criminal justice, and he demonstrates his commitment to safeguarding the public as a civilian member of the Fire Department Safety Officers Association; Mr. Blount has further benefited his community as a volunteer athletic trainer and storm spotter for his alma mater and through his contributions to the City of Garland Office of Emergency Management, which he assisted during a number of local celebrations; and WHEREAS, With his dedication and commitment to excellence, Chad Blount has made Garland an even better place in which to live and work, and he may indeed take great pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby honor Nolan Chadwick Blount for his service to the City of Garland and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Blount as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
