R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Addison Business Association was established in
1975 by business executives and professionals "to help build
Addison into a great and prosperous city"; and
WHEREAS, In the decades since, the ABA has strived to improve
communications with local government authorities, establish a
channel for expressing opinions on regulatory and budgetary issues,
and collaborate with city officials on decisions that have an
impact on trade; and
WHEREAS, With more than 150 members from the retail,
manufacturing, financial, and professional sectors, the ABA has
significantly influenced discussions on such important topics as
tollway extensions, mass transit, and zoning laws; and
WHEREAS, By effectively representing the business community
and working to enhance the economic climate of its area, the Addison
Business Association is making important contributions to the
growth and vitality of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby commend the Addison Business Association for its
endeavors to promote prosperity; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the ABA as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
